My whole family always has been. Even when I was single I used to send flowers and cards to my mom and stepdad. I did feel a little left out though when I did not have a boyfriend or mate, but I made the most of it.
I agree that love should not be expressed just on Valentines Day, but all through the year. Last night I took my husband out to a concert and dinner for Husband's appreciation night. My cousins wife started this. Husband's appreciation night or day happens sporadically throughout the yr. He comes home, may be a week night, and I will say..get dressed, it is husband appreciation night,,,Might be at home or out on the town. The important thing is that couples keep the fire going by showing appreication for each other.
Friday my husband sent me an edible arrangement at work. Today he fixed breakfast and has something for later, but if he did nothing but continued to be his usual kind self, that would be enough.
Happy Valentines Day to all!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8223385242428944710.post-91395773753303104992009-02-14T14:40:00.000-05:002009-02-14T14:40:00.000-05:00Valentine's Day is a day of love -and love is jus...Valentine's Day is a day of love -and love is just not for couples but also for the number one love in your life which should always be self. When I say self I don't mean in a selfish manner I just believe you can only give love when you fully love yourself. Over the last 30 years Valentine's Day has always been the day that immediately follows my husband's birthday - so I enjoy celebrating both of the holidays. So Happy Valentine's Day to all!!!!!!!!!! And always love oneself and you will fully love all others.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8223385242428944710.post-79695430750817453352009-02-13T18:00:00.000-05:002009-02-13T18:00:00.000-05:00Ok, I have a whole new meaning for luvin' and Vale...Ok, I have a whole new meaning for luvin' and Valentine's Day. I work in the baby delivering field and apparently Cupid works extra hard at my hospital on St Valentine's Day. Almost every year we have an overabundance of babies on February 14th. It has gotten so bad that management now offer premium pay in order to maintain adequate staffing on this special day. I have attributed this phenomena to 2 facts: 1. I work at a Catholic hospital where being 'fruitful and multiplying' is a running theme.
2. Most of these babies are conceived when the 'sap' is running high (mid May).
When I left work today, the labor and delivery unit was packed with patients. I guess it'll be another banner year at Providence Hospital. I try to spread/share love every day so I'm not stressed to break the bank.
I'm single and consider it a real good thing (smile). This year I've already sent special wishes to some of my hearts. I'm going to have my first Valentine pj party with my grand-daughter tonite. Tomorrow or Sunday I'll share a candle light meal. I do candle light every so often during the year for special effets, LOL have a wonderful weekend.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8223385242428944710.post-23982756356571976722009-02-13T14:56:00.000-05:002009-02-13T14:56:00.000-05:00Happy Valentine's Day! I LOVE Valentine's Day, and...Happy Valentine's Day! I LOVE Valentine's Day, and always have. I love it when I'm single and love it when I'm not.

I love sending Valentine cards and notes and gifts and I don't need a lover to enjoy the day. I enjoyed picking out Valentine cards and gifts for my daughters, son-in-law, granddaughter, and my man as well. I am on my way now to go pick up a bouquet of roses to hand out to my female co-workers. I do not think the history of this holiday was about lovers specifically, I do believe it is intended to be about LOVING period (I could be wrong, it has been forever since I read up on it...)

Valentine's Day, like many other holidays, seems to have lost its true meaning in the passage of time. Corporations in America have commercialized the living daylights out of our special occasions.

With that HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY! I'm off to make sure every lady in my office feels special today...just because. But i do not limit myself to calendar days to express love, gratitude, appreciation for the people in my life.

This valentine's day we are babysitting bekkah's kids so she and her mate can have a romantic nite out. with 4 children they don't get much of a chance to do that!

And as to single or attached, when i was single i was fine with being single, never felt left out if there was not a sweetie at the moment. and being a part of a couple is also fine. each is what you make of it, live life to the fullest, don't sit around waiting for it to be perfect!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8223385242428944710.post-37019482895828763882009-02-13T07:24:00.000-05:002009-02-13T07:24:00.000-05:00I love Valentines Day. However, I think it's over ...I love Valentines Day. However, I think it's over rated with people tripping and stressing out if they don't receive flowers, a card or gift. Everyday should be a Valentines Day just like every day is a day of Thanksgiving. Why should we take one day and put it aside to express the love we feel for one another? One thing I like to do and have been doing for a long time, is taking myself out to dinner with God as my date. Don't laugh at me now, hahaa!!!! I love Him just like He loves me! If it weren't for His Love, I wouldn't even be here. Now that's pricesless! Happy Valentines Day!!!LUVAhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14443812633496054678noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8223385242428944710.post-28698477343984997522009-02-13T06:21:00.000-05:002009-02-13T06:21:00.000-05:00Valentines Day is a hard one to make it through if...Valentines Day is a hard one to make it through if you are single. I send cards to family and friends, I have no children. I have lots of things going on in my life...however, I am rather glad its on Saturday this year. I dont have to see all the flowers being delivered, the jewelry that a spouse got, etc, etc...regardless of how happy you are being single....on that day, I feel for a moment, it would be nice not to be single. Its not a totally bad day, I think it could be worse, I could be in a relationship where my significant other could care less about V Day...lolcmileshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15031820127889836389noreply@blogger.com
