So, as many of you know. I've been in a serious rut. My blog words no longer seem to flow as easily as they once did. I lost my MOJO! I was so overwhelmed and actually felt paralyzed, unable to move forward.

Well, I had a very frank discussion last night with a good friend. We talked about my rut, my goals, my fears, and my plan. We talked about the things I am doing right, as well as the things I haven't done so well.

It was actually therapeutic. It was also humbling to have someone, whose opinion I value, take an honest interest in me and my plan. She was able to show me things that I have never seen before, and help me to formulate a strategy. I feel blessed. That's the GOOD news.

The BAD news is this--while I committed to writing my 2 blogs daily, most days I don't feel good about what I've written. More often than not, it seems to be fluff with no substance. I've decided that on the days that I really don't have anything to say, I simply won't write. So, rather tha a daily blog, TheTinyJEWELBox may become a 5 times a week blog, and sometimes a 3 day a week blog, and I'm sure they'll be weeks that there's only 1 post.

I'm not dropping the blog. Oh heavens no!!! In fact, I'm looking at completely redesigning it to incorporate more of my interests. What it does mean is that when I do write, it'll be straight from the heart. And of course, I'm still writing for Examiner.com. Please subscribe to my page there. And I'm always available through email at TheTinyJEWELBox@gmail.com. I'd love to hear from you!

I'm in a rut. I need help. I can't seem to focus. I'm easily distracted. I'm not getting things done. What is the problem??

I've been overwhelmed since Thursday when I had so much to do that I couldn't even figure out where to start. Well, guess what? I didn't do any of it. At all. What is the problem?

Now, it's Sunday morning. I'm still overwhelmed. I haven't done any of those tasks and have a full week planned. What is the problem?

When you are overwhelmed like this, how do you get out of it? What helps? What hurts? HELP ME!

Well friends, it's been nearly 6 months since I started writing this blog, this is my 155th post, I believe. This venture has been successful beyond my wildest dreams, and has allowed me to meet some great friends. While I'm not tired of writing, I'm definitely tired of coming up with a new topic everyday.

Asking for topic suggestions don't work well for me because I don't usually have an interest in writing about what folks suggest. It's much better for me to come up with my own topics.

I've been thinking about cutting back on writing. I'm also considering using some guest posts, where other like minded individuals would write a post here and there. These things would prevent those stressful mornings when I simply don't have anything to say. Yes, I know it's surprising--hahahaha!

I've also thought about simply closing TheTinyJEWELBOX and not writing anymore period. But, I so appreciate the love of my readers. You guys inspire me, educate me, and, sometimes, just flat out "crack me up." Tell me how you feel...

Serenity and calm are my birthright. At the core of my being, I am centered and secure. I release all fear and know that I am always protected. I have faith in the goodness of life. In my heart, I am always at home. The attitude of gratitude fills my life.

These are my affirmations for today. I anticipate difficulty, but I will not claim it.

What actions do you take when you are faced with a stressful day? Do you use prayer and/or affirmations? Let me know. Perhaps I can use some of your suggestions in my own life.

I don't want to be a grownup anymore. Lately, I've been longing for the leisure and carelessness of my childhood. Back when I didn't have a job, bills, medical problems, and responsibilities. The worst stress in my life was whether the weather would be nice enough for me to go outside.

I long for hopscotch and Chico-o-Sticks. For skate keys and puppy love. For jacks and kickball. Being a adult is so over rated, yet it looks sooo desireable when you're a kid. I couldn't wait to be grown. Now I'm here and I wish I could give it all back. Peter Pan was definitely on to something...

I used to have a great memory. Lately, however, things have been slipping through the cracks. I'm forgetting little things (to grab my lunch before I leave in the morning), as well as big things (like a dear friend's birthday) What is that about?

I use a Blackberry and put everything into it without fail. The problem lies in that once it's there, it is both out of sight and out of mind. I've started using the Reminder feature so that my phone nudges me at a set time prior. Even then, I find myself suprised that the event has come up so quickly and am usually ill prepared. At work, I have millions of lists, complete with highlighted items, --lists of things to do today, lists of things I should have done yesterday, lists of things not to forget to put on a list. But again, if something doesn't make it to a list, it might be overlooked.

Is it age that has crept up and made me start forgetting things or is it simply procrastination? Could it be that I'm simply trying to focus on too many things at once? Is it the onset of Alzheimers (gulp)?? Is it just anxiety--perhaps the same anxiety that contributes to my sleeping problems?

What about you? Having bouts of forgetfulness? What do you think it is? Are you using memory aids? Are they working?

I haven't been sleeping well--some nights I sleep too little, followed by a stretch of sleeping too much. It's being caused by a mixture of stress, anxiety, fear, and excitement. I have so much going on in my life right now.

I don't seem to have a problem falling asleep, my problem lies in staying asleep. I've cut way back on caffeine products and have even stopped watching television in bed. So far, I've stopped short of sleep aids, which I understand are highly addictive. I may, however, try something more holistic, like acupuncture or aromatherapy.

A recent poll found that more than 70% of adults experience a sleep problem at least a few nights a week. Unfortunately, not sleeping well will start to affect every area of your life--your work, your health, your overall attitude, etc. The human body can not function properly without proper rest. This is really becoming a problem for me. My body is starting to shut down during the middle of my work day, because I've been up 12 or 15 hours already.

Are you in that 70 percent who also has sleep problems? Is your problem falling asleep or staying asleep? How do you combat it?

Also--today is the last day for entry into the drawing for this month's giveaway--the $25 Macy's card. All you have to do is leave a comment on any post since last Saturday. The winner will be announced in tomorrow's post. At this point, there are less than 10 people entered--your chances are good!

Stress affects all of us. And actually, a certain amount of stress in your life is good. Stress keeps you engaged, focused, and moving forward. But too much stress detracts from productivity and happiness. Here's how you can manage stress--

Know what stresses you and be prepared when it hits.

Say no to things that are not in line with your goals.

Learn to relax. Work hard but know when it's time for other things.

Eat healthy.

Keep a sense of humor and laugh a lot.

Ask yourself WHY? The more you understand why you are doing what you are doing, the less stress you will have about it.

Stay active--exercise.

Follow your bliss. Structure your life around those activities that you love.

Organize and prioritize. Do the worst and hardest tasks first.

Follow these steps and you'll be well on your way to recapturing your peace.
