So, yesterday I saw good ole Doctor Hematologist! And the good ole Doc saw me too! And there was good news--The Iron Infusions are over!!!!No more twice weekly bags of iv iron. Nope. I'm done. Well, at least for the time being. While I do have to go get my iron levels checked periodically, I am not scheduled to SEE the doctor for a year. A year. A YEAR! YAY!!!!This means that I have to keep my iron up. Like Malcolm X said, "By any means necessary." Or, I'm back to the drawing board. And me NO LIKEY the drawing board!!And, I am pleased to report that I completely forgot to go downstairs in the medical building and get a Coke. Completely forgot! But I did stop on the way home and got a yummy Thai iced tea. Me and caffeine were separated, but we have reconciled our differences and the relationship is back on! I LOVE caffeine. In all seriousness though, I will sorely miss my doctor and his staff. They are WONDERFUL! As I've said before, I have no idea how he assembled such a group. But I promised to stop in periodically and say "hi."Your comments--priceless!!

By now, we've all heard about the wildly popular Government program, Cash for Clunkers. This program awards cash to car owners that are trading in a gas guzzler for a more "earth friendly" alternative. That's great, huh?
Well, what about folks like me that can't participate, for whatever reason? Can't I trade in something else? I'm sure I have things that I could trade in for something more modern and "earth friendly'?
For instance, what about all the VHS tapes that my husband has? Can I trade them in for a new pair of eco friendly Jimmy Choos?? What about the 120 pound Rottweiler? Can I trade it in for a cute little Teacup? What about the bottle of Coke sitting on my night table? It went flat. Can I trade it in for a new one in a biodegradable bottle? What about the size 8 jeans that I packed up and moved here? Can I trade them in for some trendy, "green," size 12s?
Why is the government overlooking me? Why are they ignoring my needs? Why can't I participate? I HAVE clunkers!

Ok..so during a trip to the zoo, you decide to jump into the polar bear habitat during feeding time. Is it just me who thinks that was a bit "not smart?" What did she think--that they were going to hand her a bottle of Coke???
Now there are public outcries for zoos to be safer? I think zoos should have measures to prevent animals from escaping, as well as those designed to prevent accident entries or falls into exhibits. But now we want them to be required to keep crazy folks out?? At what point does responsibility for one's self enter the picture?
And then, when she was finally rescued, she gives the authorities fake names and isn't cooperative? Is it just me? Is it??
