Today, the iPod turns 8 years old. Seems like we've had them forever, huh? That first iPod didn't have a lot of features--just portable music. Now iPods have video cameras, photos, movies, applications, etc.

I resisted the temptation, and only in the last few years did I get an iPod. But I certainly do love it. It usually stays in the the car, but I'll take it out if I'm traveling.

Do you have one? When did you get it? Has it changed your life? How?

Just when you thought it wouldn't happen, I've posted VIDEO!!!! I shot and posted video of FOJ Michelle on my examiner page.

This was the first editing sequence that was a piece of cake. I even froze a frame of the video and made a still picture. Perhaps I CAN do this after all. In fact, I kind of liked it. I'm ALL OVER THIS!! Steven Spielberg--watch out, I'm coming for ya!!!

Check it out here and let me know what you think.

Last fall, when the Twilight movie came up amidst much hype, I had no idea what the hoopla was about. All anyone could tell me was that it was a movie based on a children's book series about vampires. I was so not interested.

After the first of the year, Twitter was all abuzz about Twilight. Folks that I respected kept recommending that I read the books. I found the first one in Target for about 6 bucks, but I didn't buy it because I was expecting my Kindle in a couple weeks. I decided to read the Twilight series on my Kindle.

The Twilight series were amongst the first books that I downloaded in Kindle format. I was hooked after the first paragraph. I think I went through the 4 book series in about a week. I could have done it quicker, but I spent a lot of time staring into space after reading a chapter, letting it sink in. They are not about vampires, but rather about love and family. By the time the movie came out on video, I was ready. I got it that first day. I thought the movie was such a disappointment and was kind of glad that I hadn't seen it first. Based on the movie, I would have NEVER read the books.

Then True Blood started on HBO, based on the Sookie Stackhouse book series. Again, I was so not interested. But FOJs Lisa and Jan made me jealous by talking about it all the time. They made it seem so exciting. So late into the second season of the show, I bought the first season on DVD. Again, I went through the 12 episodes in about a week and can't wait to see the second season. I'm afraid to buy the books, though I have looked them up in Kindle format and see that I can get all 8 books for about $30. I never thought I would be into vampire books.

Have you read these books? Do you watch True Blood? Are you even interested?

As most of you know, I love a good snack. In fact, snack time is my most favorite time of the day. And it shows...

But I digress. I do, indeed, love snacks. I'm even willing, in most cases, to try a new snack combination. Many years ago, FOJ Stacey, invited me to try her movie snack combo. She mixed chocolate covered raisins into her buttered popcorn in the movie theatre. I tried it and, sure enough, it was delicious. Ever since, I've been buying popcorn AND raisinettes at the concession stand before a good flick.

But, I saw something yesterday that stopped me cold and rendered me speechless. And that is NOT an easy thing to achieve. While, people watching, I saw a young man, in about his early 20s, I would guess. He was in public. He had a small backpack. He was only about 6 ft from me, so I'm SURE of what I saw. He reached into his backpack and pulled out a package of regular Ramen noodles. He opened it and pulled out the seasoning packet. He opened the seasoning and sprinkled them on the hard, uncooked noodles. He then proceeded to eat the noodles--UNCOOKED. He bit and broke off small pieces of the noodles and crunched them like chips. I could NOT stop watching him. I have NEVER seen that one before. Took him about 5 mins or so to finish the pack. He took out a napkin, wiped his mouth, and chased it with a bottle of water. Of course, this all happened roughly 5 hours BEFORE I got my new Flip video camera. But now I have it and it's fully charged. If I ever see him again, I will capture video of it. See, THIS is exactly why I need one...

Have you EVER seen anyone eat uncooked ramen noodles? Have you done it yourself? Is this something I should try?

The Wizard of Oz debuted 70 years ago, at Grauman's Chinese Theatre. It is one of my favorite films.

The whole story is inspiring to me. She was lost, she overcame overwhelming challenges, and finally she found out that she had everything that she needed the whole time. I've loved this one since I was a child.

I even love The Wiz (both play and film), and Wicked. The Wiz put an African American spin on the story and Wicked is the story of the Evil Witch and how she became that way.

Do you love all things Oz? Is it nostalgic for you? Do you watch everytime it's aired on television?

By now, we've all heard about the wildly popular Government program, Cash for Clunkers. This program awards cash to car owners that are trading in a gas guzzler for a more "earth friendly" alternative. That's great, huh?

Well, what about folks like me that can't participate, for whatever reason? Can't I trade in something else? I'm sure I have things that I could trade in for something more modern and "earth friendly'?

For instance, what about all the VHS tapes that my husband has? Can I trade them in for a new pair of eco friendly Jimmy Choos?? What about the 120 pound Rottweiler? Can I trade it in for a cute little Teacup? What about the bottle of Coke sitting on my night table? It went flat. Can I trade it in for a new one in a biodegradable bottle? What about the size 8 jeans that I packed up and moved here? Can I trade them in for some trendy, "green," size 12s?

Why is the government overlooking me? Why are they ignoring my needs? Why can't I participate? I HAVE clunkers!

Yesterday, the husband and I went to see Transformers 2. The show was at 4:30. We arrived at the mall at about 3:15, picked up our tickets, and walked the around for a little bit before we went back to the theater at about 4:00.

The theater was filling fast. We found seats. The next half hour was filled with "Is this seat taken? Is that seat taken? Can you move down one?" etc. What is the deal with that? How come you show up 5 mins before screening time with a party of 6 and are upset when 20 other folks won't shift their own seats around so that you and yours can sit together?

Or worse, why show up 10 mins late and want to keep striding back and forth in front of the screen? Is that right? Especially when the tickets were $14 each?

And finally, if you are sitting next to me and have popcorn and nachos and I have none, why get upset when I casually reach over and grab a handful?? I know that we don't know each other, but heck, we're spending 2 hours next to each other in the dark. There are married folks that don't spend that much darkness together. Give up the popcorn!!!

I've had a rough couple weeks. There's been quite a bit going on in my personal life. So, my agenda for the weekend are ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. I don't plan to do anything more strenuous than watch films and eat snacks.

Right now, I plan to see Slumdog Millionaire and The Reader at the theatre and also The Secret Lives of Bees and Wall E on video. If any of you have other suggestions, let me know.

And thanks for your kind words and prayers. Also, there are only FIVE folks entered into the Zappos drawing, so your chances are excellent to win. Go back to Monday's post and enter a comment. Good Luck!
