Did you all see "Hot" Rod Blagojevich likening himself to Ghandi, Martin Luther King, and Nelson Mandela? Is he serious?

Ghandi said, "Be the change you want to see in the world." What part of selling a Senate seat is being change??? Seriously, Dude? Seriously?

He's done nearly 20 interviews with the media in the last couple days, rather than attending his own impeachment hearing. He's pleading his case to whoever will hear it. He claims this is all a big misunderstanding. He is the epitome of "not being accountable." But he's not alone. There seems to be an epidemic of elected officials falling off of the morality wagon.

Who is responsible for this? Is it the American people? Are we responsible for this? Have we escalated our lawmakers to celebrity rock star status? So much so that they feel that they are above the law?

Is it their peers? Certainly they know what their colleagues are up to, right? Are they their brother's keeper? Do they have an obligation to police themselves?

Is it the demise of the family structure? Is this what happens when we stop eating dinner together daily? What IS this about? I'm way confused--except I do know this--Hot Rod is NOT Ghandi!!

Your comments--priceless!!

I know "apathy" seems to be my battle cry of late, however, how else are these folks getting elected? What else is causing folks to turn their heads and look the other way, including their peers.

I know President Obama said something to the effect that when he leaves office he wants to be able to say his integrity will be intact. Perhaps others will follow his lead, and work for the betterment of all instead of just themselves and their cronies.

I agree with Cat. The voter turn out for this presidential election was phenomenal. Where have all of these voters been when these other officials, the Shady Bunch, were getting elected? I know there are staggering numbers of people who have turned a blind eye, chosen not to vote, taken that "My vote wouldn't mean anything, it's just one vote" or "I don't follow politics" or whatever attitude toward participating in this very important and precious aspect of American life! I pray that all those who stepped up to the plate and voted for the first time in this election will start paying attention. I pray they recognize the power in just one vote. And if that happens, we can probably look forward to some changes in the appointments of our elected officials. MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

God is doing a new thing!! He's put the country in check with the stock market. He's given us a new President, and He is revealing things that have been blind to us as a nation for many years! I was appalled a the audacity of Blago comparing himself to Ghandi, Mother Theresa, Martin Luther King Jr, Malcom X and the the next day attacking the Senate and wanting Ted Kennedy arrested, impeached?? The man has lost his fraginackle mind. But then again, nothing is surprising regarding the actions of politicians anymore.
