Lately, I've seen quite a few young women with glaring tattoos on their necks, arms, faces, and legs. Some don't even look like they were done in a reputable tattoo shop but rather done at someone's kitchen table. I always wonder what they are thinking.

These crude looking drawings and words detract from their appearance. What's wrong with looking decent and wholesome? How will having "Baby Girl" in Gothic Script under your ear go over in corporate America? Who will take you serious?

Am I just showing my age and not allowing our young people self expression? Am I not seeing the artistic value in this? Am I just an old fuddy duddy???

Your comments--priceless!!

I grew up associating tattoos with biker gangs and the like so when "regular" folks started getting tattoos it was an adjustment in thinking for me. However, that being said i would rather see jewelry adorning a woman rather than tattoos. I don't care how skillful it is how artistic, how delicat there are just places i still don't feel it is appropriate. maybe i am becoming an old fuddy duddy i dunno. heck i only have one hole in each earlobe so maybe i really am lol. i still subscribe to the idea less can be more!

Tattoos are too permanant and you should think long and hard before putting one on your body.... I have a neice that has a tattoo on her body that refers to being a fine sexy young lady....I asked her what will she change it to when she's 30, 40, 50 years old? It is so not "cute". And why do all these women have tattoos on their backside, what happened to jewelry or some other types of decoration on the body- that's removable.....A young woman with a good resume came in for a job at my office , but who wants to hire someone with stars going down the left side of her face from ear to breast..... Thing is someone asked what it represented and she couldn't tell us

I've only one niece in my family with tatoo's, she is the defiant one. No other nieces or nephews, brothers, sisters, etc...think they are cute or sexy. I may be a fuddy duddy, but I'm not in the minority. However, I work with quite a few younger folks who wear them produly. I just dont understand how putting a permanent mark on your neck, face, earlobe or any other body part is attractive/profesional in any way shape or form. But then again, it isn't my body.
